Model Kendall was working a fur-embellished Oriett Domenech mini dress, Neil Lane gold snake earrings and strappy sandals, topping off with that mod-style faux fringe and a high fashion topknot
Kylie, meanwhile, opted for a slightly more revealing look, rocking a cut-out leather Bryan Hearns dress featuring chainmail detail and a daring thigh-high split. And let’s just say it’s received a bit of a backlash…
Since the show, famous celebrity stylist June Ambrose has publically slammed the 18-year-old’s dominatrix-inspired outfit.
‘She looks like she was ready to fight!’ June told Us Weekly. ‘She was in chains and leather.’ Hmm, a little harsh, don’t you think?
So far, Kylie’s declined to comment on the insult, which we think is the best response she could give.
The outfit was actually picked by Kylie and stylist Monica Rose, who also helped to create Kendall’s look for the night.
Explaining that she wanted to go for ‘effortless’ and a little bit ‘rocker’ looks for both girls, she also added that her main focus was to show off Kendall’s best model asset: ‘Her legs’. We can’t blame her.
Rose also helped to style Gigi on the night, who turned up in a stunning white Bao Tranchi two-piece number that fit her frame perfectly.
‘We had different dresses custom-made for the AMAs and this was one of our favourites,’ she told Pret-a-Reporter of the one-of-a-kind look.
‘Gigi gravitated towards white [because] we wanted to venture away from what she wore to the [Victoria’s Secret] After Party, so this was a very clean and chic vibe.’
And as for that fake bob? ‘The dress called for short, sexy, easy-looking hair,’ said hairstylist Bryce Scarlett.
And there you have it. The best AMAs looks, decoded!
