It was the Met Gala last night, and guess who kind of stole the show? Yep, the one and only Kim Kardashian.
The 34-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star stunned in a sheer embellished Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas gown at the event hosted by Anna Wintour, which left very little to the imagination.
Boasting a dramatic feathered train, the beaded, floor-length gown let Kim showcase her incredible curves – but it was a strictly no underwear affair, as the mum-of-one showed just how body confident she’s feeling right now. Miaow.
The dress was received well on the night, with critics praising the star’s outfit choice and comparing it favourably to her slightly more controversial Met Gala 2013 dress choice… That floral Givenchy gown.
And it was a special gown in another way, as it was the first dress Peter Dundas had ever designed for Cavalli. Previous to the event, Kim tweeted: ‘OMGGGGG I just finished a 2 hour MET Ball dress fitting! I think this is one of my favorite dresses ever!!!!!!! Can’t wait.’
So where did the inspiration for the fabulous feathered frock come from? Well, this one may surprise you.
Kim’s dress was actually inspired by the dress Cher wore to the first ever Met Gala. Who knew the Believe singer would be Kim Kardashian’s #1 style icon?! And Kim couldn’t have been prouder when she bumped into the legendary star herself at this year’s bash, grabbing her for a backstage snap.
‘Tonight’s inspiration! Cher at the 1st ever Met Gala! I just met her and told her this photo was my inspiration for my dress tonight! She is so beautiful! So happy I met her!’ Kim gushed next to a picture of her and Cher. Aw.
With her red carpet showstopper gown grabbing all the attention, Kim wisely kept her hair and makeup simple, sweeping her long dark locks into a tight ponytail and opting for a clean, bronzed makeup look with a nude lip.
Getting her hubby to take a snap of her and J Lo flashing their designer-clad derrieres at the camera, Kim wrote: ‘With my idol @jlo by Kanye’.
Oh, what a night.
