Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are a celebrity force to be reckoned with.

Possibly the world’s most talked about couple, they are red carpet regulars and have the world – us included – hanging on to their every designer outfit choice.

Their absence was instantly felt as the film elite strutted along the Oscars entrance carpet. With the likes of 50 Shades sensation Dakota Johnson, a very pregnant Keira Knightley and a gorgeous, sparkley Jennifer Aniston, we had our fill of celebrity goodness. But we couldn’t help but wonder what Kim-K would have had in store in the dress stakes.

Want to know where the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was on Academy Awards night?

Well. The reality-star-turned-fashion-icon took to Twitter to make it known.

Kim tweeted from the comfort of her sofa; “Just finished my piano lesson in time to watch the Oscar’s red carpet!!!”

Aw. This famous celebrity mum opted to stay at home with her daughter North. She went on to say, “I’m going to surprise Kanye by learning one of his songs! He’s hardly on social media so he won’t know I’m tweeting this lol” – Now THAT’S something we want to see!

Of course, sister Khloe was presenting the E! after party, so Kim was quick to send out a message in support of her little sis. And she also selected her favourite Oscar dress of the night, presenting Margot Robbie with that personal Kardashian-approved prize.

Following the theme of his wife, Kanye also appeared to be away for the screening of his BET Honours Award. The rap sensation and aspiring designer was in London for fashion week, while his missus watched from their home in California. Kim took to Instagram to offer her congratulations the best way she knows how – with a selfie.

Captioning her self portrait in the notorious all black outfit, Kim said: “Watching Kanye’s speech at the BET Honors made me smile! He is so deserving of this visionary award! I’m so proud of him #MyHeartSmiles4Him”
