Kendall Jenner is really making her mark on New York Fashion Week.
Totting up a runway a day, the 19-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has followed up her Alexander Wang and Diane von Furstenberg triumphs with a cracking strut at Donna Karan.
Against the romantic backdrop of the New York skyline, Kendall was seen gliding down the catwlk in a sleek black sleeveless dress with a plunging neckline and origami-style waist folds.
But it was the hair everyone’s been talking about – because Karan only sent her polished models down the runway with hair extensions worth a whopping $35,000. Yep, really.
With the models’ hair styled in dramatic side-parts, you would barely know the extensions were there. In fact, the stylist tucked the models’ locks behind their ears so that the lengths simply hung in a blunt chop that reached just below their shoulder blades. Subtle, and very clever.
Donna Karan’s AW15 collection focused heavily on tailoring, with plenty of tucks and folds on gowns and sleek layering.
Falling just below the knee, Kendall’s slim-fit frock looked super elegant teamed with slate grey chunky heels, while heredgy ear cuff added a cool modern edge.
Unsurprisingly, Kendall didn’t walk to a family FROW – unllike an Kanye West’s recent NYFW show, where the audience was packed full of Kardashians.
In a recent interview, the rising model admitted that she wants to step away from her family when it comes to her modeling career.
‘I didn’t need it to be a family affair,’ she told Allure of her first fashion show with Marc Jacobs last year. ‘As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family.’
‘I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, ‘OK, this is [Kendall’s] thing – she’s taking it seriously.’
We can see that, lady.
