It’s no secret that social media can be a lucrative business and we all know that celebs pocket a few quid for supporting certain brands, but you won’t believe quite how much. A former casting director has revealed that the top-ranking models in the world can earn over £200,000 for a single Instagram post.
Frank Spadafora, the founder and CEO of an app called D’Marie Archive which ranks the power of models, told CR Fashion Book that the three most high-ranking models on Instagram can earn between $125,000 and $300,000 for a single post. And so who is raking in the big bucks? Unsurprisingly, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid are right there at the top. And those on the next ranking down don’t do too badly either.

“The next tier – very familiar faces like Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo, and Miranda Kerr – can command between $25,000 to $50,000 for a single post across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.”
While not everything they post is paid for, models can rake in more than their day rate or more than they might get for a catwalk or campaign simply by plugging a brand with one social post. In addition to this, they are also far more likely to be hired it they have a big social media following.
Jennifer Powell of Next Models told the magazine, “For sure, casting directors will ask for models with over ‘X’ amount of followers, and then will ask for the specs of the talent after that.”
So with 65 million followers on Instagram, we’ve got a feeling that Kendall Jenner is going to booking more than a few campaigns (and raking in more than a few quid) in 2016.
