Kate Moss fans, prepare your purses.
Everyone’s favourite model-turned-designer has created a summer capsule collection for hip French label, Equipment. And if Kate’s former Topshop collabs are anything to go by, we predict a riot. Kate told Vogue: “I like that girl / boy thing. I’m a tomboy really; I was always stealing Jamie’s shirts.” Well now she won’t have to.
But Kate’s relaxed, cool shirts are just part of the collection alongside trousers, military style jackets, 90s slip dresses and knits. And it wouldn’t be Kate Moss without some rock ‘n’ roll thrown in. An otherwise muted colour palette of black, white, grey and red are spiced up by David Bowie-inspired lighting bolts, stars, anchors and leopard print. “The Equipment people brought the shirts and I reshaped them a bit and talked about the prints and how the pockets should be. Clothes are my thing. I like to talk about them, touch them, see what feels right,” says Kate. Coming from the muse who never gets it wrong, we’re happy to bet she’s got it right.
Founded in 1976 by Carine Roitfeld’s partner Christian Restoin, Equipment turns 40 this year and is pulling in its celebrity pals to celebrate. Mossy’s fellow model Daria Werbowy shot the exciting new collection’s lookbook at Kate’s home in the English countryside. And it’s not the first time Poland-born Daria and Kate have worked together for the shirt company, either; the duo star in the current spring campaign, also shot by Daria in Mustique. Speaking of her colleague and friend, Kate said; “It’s different working with a woman photographer. Daria’s attention to detail is really subtle as a photographer.”
Kate also shot a video in the ‘gig room’ at her Cotswold home, alongside model Susie Cave. Yes, you heard us right- gig room. “Everyone should have a room with a stage, a mic, and a drum kit, don’t you think?” Sure! Who needs a sitting room anyway?

The collection goes on sale at equipmentfr.com and on Net-a-Porter this Thursday, 2nd June. And it’s not just a one off, either. Kate said she had already begun researching the next collection in second hand shops in Brazil. “It’s going to be really colourful for next spring!” That’s next summer’s wardrobe sorted already, then.
