Julien Macdonald’s shows are always one of the highlights of the London Fashion Week calendar, and this season, it was no different. From a star-studded front row that included Millie Mackintosh and Lucy Watson to super slinky beaded dresses and full on ball gowns, the show was an absolute party from start to finish and officially sorted our night-out inspo for the season.
His signature glam was ever so present in the collection, with beading and embellishment a feature throughout the collection, even down to the men’s boxer shorts. Crochet frocks were aplenty, but this wasn’t delicate pretty crochet, it was seriously grungy spider webbing, with super low V-necks on skintight dresses. The models’ hair was slicked back, while their make up was all dark eyes and nude lips.

You can’t fail to describe the collection as sexy. From short hemlines to sheer fabrics and seriously low backs, the Julien Macdonald girl this season is on her way to a party looking super sultry with a touch of Fifty Shades about her.
There was a bit of a dramatic ending to the show as the designer himself actually managed to catch one of the models as she took a tumble on the catwalk. Walking out for his finale with a model wearing an incredible bridal gown, Julien caught her as she fell over, ensuring she didn’t meet the same fate as Candice Swanepoel did on the Givenchy catwalk last week!

The model was wearing an amazing white jumpsuit that was completed with a huge skirt – officially on our dream wedding gown lists now!
Another model also almost took a tumble, grabbing one of the shirtless male models on her way down and then walked back arm in arm with him.
The amazing clothes didn’t end on the catwalk either. The FROW was complete with Lucy Watson and Millie Mackintosh (who has been having one very busy fashion week darting between pretty much every show on the calendar) who both opted for the ultimate in sexy frocks which would usually look out of place on a Saturday lunchtime, but for today, it was perfect.
