As if being an amazing actress, screenwriter and all round awesome person wasn’t enough, now Jennifer Lawrence is set to make her directorial debut – is there anything this chick can’t do?
With an Oscar win under her belt and the leading role in one of the coolest film franchise’s ever, it was only a matter of time before Jen followed in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and stepped behind the camera.
She spoke of her desire to take to the director’s chair, sharing “It’s funny, I’ve always wanted to direct since I was 16 and always thought I should start making steps towards that. If I had tried to do it earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready. Now I actually feel ready.”
The Hollywood starlet is set to call the shots on a film entitled ‘Project Delirium’. Speaking about the new project Jen said, “It’s based on this article about mental warfare in the 60’s, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong,”
Sounds cool, huh?
Based on a 2012 New Yorker article titled Operation Delirium by Raffi Khatchadourian, it focuses on chemical warfare experiments conducted on volunteer U.S. soldiers in the 1960’s.
This isn’t Jen’s only foray away from acting, she’s currently penning a screenplay with the help of pal Amy Schumer which she has said will be “funny” ‘dirty” and “real” – which we can’t wait for by the way…
Jen has also shared her dreams of directing a second movie already “I’d also like to direct a comedy, “ “I have wanted to direct as long as I’ve wanted to act. I just don’t talk about it because I’d rather just do it.”
It’s unclear when Jennifer will start working in her new directorial role with her already busy diary, she’s currently filming sci-fi romance ‘Passengers’ with Chris Pratt, reprising her role in next summers ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ as well as her current starring role in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.’
We’re pretty sure ‘Super Jen’ can pull it all off, no probs!
