Jay Z Is Backing A New Uber For Private Jets

There’s a brand new Uber-style app coming out, and we have a feeling Beyonce, Rihanna and Kylie Jenner will be ALL over it.

You know that familiar situation when you’re desperate to hail that private jet for the weekend, but there’s just no app to help you out?

Erm no, us neither. But apparently, it’s not as easy as it looks for these super rich celebrities to book a private jet whenever they fancy it, because there’s actually tonnes of pesky paperwork involved.

Which is why one one clever entrepeneur has created the new Jetsmarter app, which claims to let anyone book a flight on a private jet within a matter of seconds.

Oh, and Jay Z’s funding it! Of course he is.

‘I started the company out of a frustration with the process,’ 27-year-old entrepreneur Sergey Petrossev told Business Insider. ‘I kept thinking to myself, “Why hasn’t this service been brought into the digital world?”

‘Essentially it works like an airline, except you go through private carriers, he added. ‘There’s no going through security, you just pull up to a private plane five minutes before you take off and go.’

So far, the app – dubbed ‘the new Uber’ – has raised £13 million, with the Saudi Royal Family joining Jay Z as one of the investors.

We can understand the hip hop mogul’s interest – him, Beyonce and Blue Ivy are regularly seen jetting back and forth between Thailand, Mexico and Southern Italy.

And the Kardashian Jenners are regulars on the private jet scene, often papping glamorous in-flight selfies of them revelling in their plush planes.

Jetsmarter members have the choice between two options: JetDeals, which are last-minute, one-way flights, or JetShuttle, which lets you jet between cities on shared, scheduled flights.

This is one commuting trend we’d definitely like to get in on. We’ll just keep on dreaming though, shall we?
