Whether you’ve met Mr (or Mrs) Right yet, or you’re still waiting, this is seriously interesting.
Because whilst everyone’s relationships blossom at different times, haven’t you always wondered what that perfect age to meet the partner of your dreams might be?
Well, Match.com did, which is why they conducted a super interesting survey to discover the average age that people meet The One.
According to the study, which interviewed over 2,000 people about their relationships, the average age for women is 25. And for men? A little later, at 28 years-old.
Half of people also found The One in their twenties.
So basically, by our mid-twenties, a lot of us are a little more clued up as to who we want to spend the rest of our lives with. But bear in mind this is simply an average amongst people in relationships – so if you’re still totally single and living the life, that’s pretty normal too. Woop!
There were some other interesting discoveries, too – apparently, it takes us five months to say ‘I love you’, and two years to get engaged.
Marriage comes, on average, three years after first getting together, and as for children? Around four years.
Kate Taylor, a Match.com dating expert, said: ‘While each relationship moves at its own pace, daters are often reassured by comparing their experiences with others.’
‘We all ask our friends, “When did you know your partner was The One?” or, “How long did you wait before you kissed?”‘
Taylor added: ‘If your relationship isn’t falling within these time frames, use them to adjust your expectations.’
