Ever felt frustrated that your video gets cut short on Instagram? Well, things are about to change.
Currently the social media platform only lets you share 15 second videos, but they’re now in process of rolling out a new feature that lets you upload videos up to a minute in length – yay!
Instagram announced the change by sharing a longer video via their very own Insta account – natch.
“In the last six months, the time people spent watching video on Instagram increased by more than 40 percent. As part of our continued commitment to video, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds,” Instagram told their users.
To launch the new longer length videos Instagram enlisted the help of their most popular user, Selena Gomez. Selena shared a 60 second video with her 72.3million followers of her recording new material in the studio.
And longer length videos aren’t the only exciting update from Instagram. If you use Instagram on an iPhone you will soon be able to create multi-clip videos to share with your followers.
Instagram confirmed that if you update your iOS software to version 7.19 you can now make videos using various different clips from your camera roll – pretty clever, eh?
While you can get this feature instantly by updating your software, you will have to wait a little longer for the 60 second video feature to kick in.
“Longer video on Instagram begins rolling out today and will be available for everyone in the coming months,” Instagram confirmed.
This exciting Instagram upgrade comes following yesterday’s algorithm update. Instagram have changed the way you see content in your feed from chronological to being based on popularity – and users are not happy.
Hopefully this news will soften the blow…
