We’ve been inundanted with red carpet glamour recently, what with awards shows going on right, left and centre, but still we get excited at the sight of some of our favourite sartorial goddesses looking great. Yep, that’s right, this is an unapologetic celebration of our favourite looks straight from the amfAR gala in New York last night. But, more than that, this is a joyous jubilation of the world’s best supermodels, just being fab on the red carpet. We’ve taken much time (and effort) to decide which model ladies deserve our applause, and we’ve managed to narrow it down to a very strong top five. And, in the interests of celebrating these women for all being great as well as looking it, we’re going to justify exactly why they made our love list. So sit back, relax and enjoy some unabashed rejoicing in personal style. We promise it’ll make the fact that today is Thursday- and not Friday- much more bearable…
1. Karlie Kloss
Oh Karlie, let us count the ways in which we love you. The 22-year old Victoria’s Secret angel simply wears a slinky gown like nobody else, and she proved as much in this Mugler dress (see above). She’s been the face of practically every major fashion brand, and is besties with Taylor Swift. But as well as having endless legs and a winning smile, Karlie is also a philanthropist, giving proceeds from her Karlie’s Kookies to FEED Projects, helping hungry children all around the world. What a babe.
Because she’s the Queen, and because at the age of 44, she still looks this good. We’ve spent most of the morning on a Google deep-dive, pouring over pictures of Naomi back at the start of her career, all in honour of Throwback Thursday. Just in case you’ve never done this, we suggest you try to fit that in at some point today. All hail The Original Supermodel.
3. Jessica Stam
We’ll be honest, we just love Jess. The girl has a Marc Jacobs bag named after her- what’s not to love?! She’s walked for all the biggest names in the industry and has become a bonafide icon. Wham, bam, thank you Stam!
Topshop’s latest model recruit not only pulls off denim with aplomb, she is also a member of one of Hollywood’s most legendary acting dynasties, the Baldwins. That’s right, Alec Baldwin is her uncle. Plus, we love that she chose one of the A-list’s favourite, but lesser known designers for the amfAR event, Gabriela Cadena. To top it off, just check out her Harry Winston jewels. Girl’s got game.
Where do we even begin? She’s the wife of David Bowie, she’s involved in countless charitable projects including her work as an Ambassador for Save The Children, and she’s wearing this Balmain look. The woman’s incredible.
