Rita Ora has left The Voice to join the X Factor, it was announced last week. And there are already rumours about who might be replacing her…
The latest pop star to be pipped for the judge’s seat is Nicole Scherzinger, who has previously been an X Factor judge herself.
Reportedly recommended by close pal will.i.am, a source told The Sun: ‘Her team believe she’s distanced herself from X Factor enough while she’s concentrated on her solo music career to be able to join another show. She definitely wants to do it.’
We would love Scherzy to do it. Especially as it’s not even clear if the previous The Voice judges will even be returning… Ricky Wilson told NME last week: ‘I haven’t heard from The Voice, as everyone is on holiday or at Glastonbury. But, no, I’ve heard nothing. I don’t know if I’d do it again, maybe.’ Eek.
Paloma Faith and FKA Twigs are also hotly tipped to join the panel.
‘They have been impressed by her forthright opinions and love her out-there style’, a source told The Sun about Paloma.
Funnily enough, the 33-year-old singer was offered a place on the very same panel back in 2013 after Jessie J left – but she didn’t feel confident enough to take the role at the time.
‘Yes they did offer me The Voice, but I didn’t feel it was right’, Paloma said. ‘I don’t like the idea of eliminating people because I don’t feel confident enough about my own abilities to judge anybody else.’
Well, we hope she’s feeling a little more confident two years on, as we reckon the kooky songstress would make an ace judge. Or would you prefer FKA Twigs?
