Every year, GQ releases it’s ‘Best Dressed Men in Britain’ list where the magazine staff and an industry panel of experts judge which men have been winning in the style stakes this past year.
Topping the list was dapper actor Eddie Redmayne, whose stylish red carpet suits were always going to fare well. He beat fellow actor, Benedict Cumberbatch to the top spot, who was placed in second, one spot above ‘Fifty Shades’ star Jamie Dornan.
But it wasn’t just the battle for the top spot which was making headlines; it was the fact that 12-year-old Romeo Beckham beat his Dad to be placed at number 25 on the list, while David was all the way down at 46.
The famous footballer has always been rated highly for his fashion credentials and was placed at 13 on GQ’s list in 2013. Clearly hugely influenced by his Dad’s dapper style, Romeo has jumped to a more prestigious ranking than his father this year. Perhaps his world-famous fashion-designer mother gave him a few pointers too.
Romeo is no stranger to the fashion world, having recently starred in Burberry’s Christmas campaign and also fronting the brand’s spring/summer 2013 ads, aged just 10. GQ described Romeo as “One to watch” and we certainly can’t wait to see how his style develops – if he’s anything like the rest of the Beckhams, he’s bound to go from strength to strength.
Another famous youngster who made his debut on the list was 1-year-old Prince George, who melted hearts in his knitted Christmas vest to enter the list at number 49.
Eddie Redmayne taking the style crown ended a superb 2014 for the young actor, who not only has been tipped to win an Oscar for his role in ‘The Theory Of Everything’ but also got married to his longtime love at the end of the year.
