The Only 3 Trends That Matter From The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes may be about honouring film and television’s most talented artists but, let’s face it, what we really care about is who wore what on the red carpet – and boy was this year’s awards a fashionable sight to behold.

As we were trawling through all of the frocks – from Jennifer Lawrence’s red hot Dior column gown complete with crop overlay to Zendaya’s triple layer floor-sweeper – we couldn’t help but notice that pretty well all of the dresses hit into three super statement trend categories. Coincidence? We think not. Behold the biggest dress trend of the Globes (AKA, what all of the high street’s occasion frocks are going to look like this season).

Hero Capes

Giving superheroes a major run for their money were these ladies, who prove that capes go way beyond fancy dress costumes. Up there is Jennifer Lopez’s canary yellow Giambattista Valli gown, Emilia Clarke’s vampy Valentino number and Lily James’s ethereal Marchesa dress. Stunning.

Top Of The Crops

Cementing its status as one of the biggest trends of SS16, crop tops were the order of the day on the Golden Globes 2016 red carpet. Daring to bare were Kate Hudson in, Jennifer Lawrence in Dior and rising star Brie Larson who smouldered in custom-made Calvin Klein.

Deep V Plunges

With so many plunging necklines on display, it’s clear the REAL winner of the Golden Globes was boob tape. Soz Leo. Our favourite flesh-flashing looks? Jenna Dewan Tatum in Zuhair Murad, Olivia Wilde in sequined Michael Kors and Zendaya in tiered Marchesa.
