Do You Want To Sit On Givenchy’s FROW At Fashion Week?

Givenchy has announced the news it will taking a break from Paris and will instead be showing its Spring/Summer 2016 collection at New York Fashion week on 11th September. But that’s not all; as well as this exciting change of location, there will also be a major change in audience, as Givenchy is opening its doors to 1200 ‘real people’. That’s non-industry, non-celebrity civilians, just in case you were in any doubt.

Working closely with the City Of New York, Givenchy will give away more than 800 tickets on a first-come, first-served basis via a mystery website set up in partnership with Yep, that means that you could bag a ticket to the show, which will no doubt be attended by the usual suspects like Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jessica Chastain and Katy Perry.

The website  you’ll need to get tickets will be revealed at around 3pm today (that’s 10am NYC time) via social media. If you don’t follow them already, we suggest you keep your eye on the Twitter/Instagram accounts of Givenchy, the CFDA, KCD and NYCgo for your chance to pick up a front row seat at New York Fashion Week.

The French brand’s Artistic Director, Riccardo Tisci announced the news that Givenchy would be showing in New York this season on Instagram saying ‘9.11.15 – GET READY – STAY TUNED #GRTnyc17 @givenchyofficial’. And, clearly struggling to contain his excitement, Tisci continued: ‘I AM PROUD TO COME TO NY TO CELEBRATE LOVE AND LIFE #GRTnyc17 #sept11 #love #show #comingsoon @givenchyofficial’

The show will coincide with celebrations over the label’s brand new, 5,000-sq-ft Madison Avenue store. Givenchy has been absent from the Big Apple since 2006, choosing to concentrate its offering in Miami and Las Vegas stores instead. The US might be a key target for them right now, but there are also rumours of a London store in the pipeline.  No that’s something we’d like to see at Fashion Week.

Givenchy never fails to dominate the headlines thanks to the world’s most famous models and Hollywood A-listers being among the members of its fashion gang. Catwalk queens Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner, Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls all featured in the Spring/Summer 2016 menswear show in Paris last week. Ricardo’s love for the Kardashians is no secret, either. Kendall apears on the cover of Vogue Japan for August alongside Kanye West and Jessica Chastain, while Kim and North are regular fixtures on the FROW.

With this recent news, we bet Kendall’s already booked one job for New York Fashion Week.
