When it comes to supermodels baring all, it seems like Stuart Weitzman’s campaigns are the place to go about it. First, the label convinced Kate Moss to pose in little more than a blazer (open and sans shirt), a pair of briefs and some suitably sexy footwear. Then, Gisele Bündchen was recruited for the spring 2015 ads, where she stood totally topless. And now, for spring 2016, Mr Weitzman has snapped up not one, but three top models, and dropped all clothing – save for a pair of shoes each, of course.
Yep, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls and Lily Aldridge were captured by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino for Stuart Weitzman’s SS16 campaign, wearing nothing but a pair of the brand’s ‘Nearly Nude’ heels.
Having just walked off the iconic Victoria’s Secret catwalk, it’s not hard to see why Stu chose the trio to take over from former supers Gisele and Kate. According to the designer, the girls were also chosen “because of their social relevance and fashion-forward trendsetter statuses”, and for playing the “quintessential girls-next-door” role.
For Gigi, though, it was the shoes and team that made the campaign. Taking to Instagram to share a snap from the photo series, Miss Hadid said: “So excited to be a part of the @StuartWeitzman SS16 campaign. Best shoes, best team, best day – clearly NOTHING else is needed.”
Joan, meanwhile, captioned her snap: “These shoes were made for walking…naked.”
And Lily? The 30-year-old super wrote: “Who said diamonds are a girls best friend..Shoes are on top of my list. So excited to be a part of the SS16 @StuartWeitzman with @Gigihadid @joansmalls. #inourshoes Shot by the one & only @MarioTestino.”
While a pair of Weitzman’s wouldn’t go amiss, it’s those perfectly honed legs, bums and tums that have topped our Christmas list..
