Oh, Olivia Palermo. Her fashion week outfits have become such a fixture, we almost look forward to them as much as the shows. She’s a street style photographer’s dream thanks to her flawless polish and designer dedication. And need we even mention her ever-growing accessory arsenal?
Well, as New York Fashion Week continued over the weekend, Olivia was out in force doing what she does best and entertaining the crowds (sartorially speaking) outside the Tibi show. Decked out in a Tibi caped-back blazer, chic polo neck knit and Prada pumps, it was Olivia’s satin Tibi culottes which really caught our eye. Because not only did our favourite NY socialite style out her tricky culottes with aplomb, she also reminded us that one of our high street hot spots has been stocking these alternative trews for a while now.
Yep, with a wrap-over front creating a figure-flattering shape, we’ve definitely seen the likes of Olivia’s culottes before, and at none other than Lavish Alice. Available in navy, these cut-offs are a dead-ringer for Miss Palermo’s thanks to their striking silhouette. In fact, the brand also has a pair in lilac grey which, while they don’t feature a wrap-front, they do echo the wide-leg of Liv’s Tibi beauties.
But hang on, because that’s not even the best news. Lavish Alice’s cool culottes have actually gone into the sale, meaning that you can snap up Olivia’s FROW-ready fashion formula for less than £25. We’re not kidding. The lilac grey numbers are a steal at £21, while the navy crossover style is currently just £24. And with all the sizes still in stock, we can all get our hands on these stylish bargains.
While culottes can be a versatile addition to your wardrobe, we would suggest avoiding your trusty flats and wearing with heels instead, for optimum leg-lengthening potential. Classic courts, as Olivia proves, are a major hit, while we also like wearing ours with block heel sandals. And don’t be afraid to add a pair of tights beneath your culottes right now before baring those ankles come spring.
So there you have it- an Olivia P-approved look for under £25, and all before Monday evening has even begun. We’d say that’s a pretty successful start to the week…
