Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was a vision in her Stephane Rolland dress on Sunday night’s X Factor show. But it was her hair that really made that oh-so-chic ensemble.
The former Girls Aloud star shunned sequins in fabour of an understated bandeau black dress which kicked out at the waist and highlighted her tiny frame, with the simple addition of a metallic waist belt.
On her feet she wore rose gold metallic courts, and for her elegant beauty look? A Brigette Bardot-inspired ponytail.
If there’s one lady that knows high volume, it’s Cheryl. And this super-flattering updo screams girly glamour.
And the best news? It’s too easy to recreate at home. Here’s how to get Cheryl’s Bardot barnet…
First, find your centre parting and apply Percy & Reed Abundantly Bouncy Volumising Mousse to give bounce and texture before blow-drying with a round brush.
Then, section off the crown of the head and insert two large rollers. Warm with the hairdryer and mist with L’Oreal Paris Protect Styling Spray in 3 Day Wave and leave until they are completely cold to touch.
Remove the rollers, section off the hair from behind each ear to the back of the head in a horseshoe shape and mist with Percy & Reed Big, Bold and Beautiful Dry Instant Volumising Spray before lightly back combing.
Once you have an even padding around the crown, section the hair from ear to ear, twist and pin. Next, use a small boar bristle brush to smooth your hair back and create a perfectly coifed bouffant.
To secure your low pony, use several bobby pins (the same color as your hair) to gather the rest of your hair together and pin in place.
Lastly, set with hairspray.
And voila! The perfect modern Bardot.
