Shrimps is the faux fur brand that has taken the fashion world by stom. The brainchild of designer Hannah Weiland, just about every trendsetter worth their salt was wrapped up in one of Hannah’s cosy creations during the winter months, unmistakeable thanks to the bright, zingy colours and stripes. But, it’s not just the outerwear that’s had the celebs in a spin. We’ve lost count of the times we’ve spotted Alexa Chung clutching her fluffy pink Shrimps bag, accessorising everything from cocktail dresses to white dungarees.
In fact, we’ve seen a whole host of A-list ladies clutching these furry friends, including fashionista Laura Bailey. Naturally the high street hasn’t failed to notice the rise of the cuddle clutch, and the current champion of the trend is Topshop, which is currently stocking some of the best we’ve seen. Best bit? They’re only £32.
Making faux fur spring-ready thanks to a spectrum of pretty pastel hues, Toppers’ contrast clutches feature a double stripe detail and a rolled top. Now, we know this isn’t the most obvious of spring trends, but trust us when we say these beauties will bring your wardrobe bang up to date.
Try with pretty peasant blouses and skinny jeans for weekend cool, or follow Alexa’s lead and accessorise your LBD for after-dark. They key is to make this your statement accessory, and keep everything else to a minimum to avoid overkill.
You’ll soon wonder how you did without it, which, we assume, is exactly how Alexa feels. Well, when a bonafide style icon totes hers so frequently, it’s time to get on board with the cuddle clutch. Go on, you know you want to…
