As the fashion spotlight moves to Paris for the fourth and final fashion week of the season, we’re quietly making a wish list of all our favourite dresses, shoes and accessories in preparation for next season. But, if you can’t wait that long, this news might just make your day. You can snap up your very own, Gucci-inspired frock right now on the high street!
We fell hard for Gucci’s AW15 collection, which saw beautiful floral prints on bohemian dresses and more relaxed silhouettes than we’ve seen from the brand before. Not surprising, given that Frida Giannini- the brand’s longtime designer- abruptly left before the show, only to be replaced by Alessandro Michele. And, although it was a very different kind of Gucci vibe, the romanticism and retro shapes were in keeping with our current preoccupation with everything ’70s. In particular, we developed a bit of a crush on a blush-pink, long sleeved dress, scattered in petals and paired with classic horesbit loafers.
Imagine our delight, then, when we clocked this designer deadringer at one of our high street heroes, M&S! Yup, Marks and Spencer has rushed to our rescue once again with its shirty shift dress, with a loose-fit and floral print to rival the Gucci number. And- most importantly- it’s only £45. That’s a slice of next season for less than £50!
We recommend snapping this beauty up while you can- once the secret’s out of the bag, every trendsetter worth their fashion salt is going to want in on this style fix. Thanks M&S, we’re off to get our Gucci on.
