Freja Beha Erichsen is the stunning Danish supermodel and face of Hugo Boss fragrance, Hugo Women. Co-starring with French model, Adrien Sahores, Freja looks incredible in the new campaign for the seriously fresh fragrance. We caught up with the gorgeous model to chat all things beauty, style and travel.
Do you have any particular make-up tips you’ve picked up as a model?
“I think the best tip is just to make sure you curl your eyelashes, which is very simple but can literally make all the difference between looking like you’re still half asleep and looking fully awake. That’s a good little trick.”
And then will you put on mascara afterwards? Or do you just curl them and leave them?
“I actually just curl them and leave them. That’s pretty much all I do, yeah. I might put on a little bit of mascara if I’m off out somewhere fancy, but on daily basis, I just curl them and leave them.”
Do you have any bad habits like leaving your make up on at night or are you quite good?
“Well I never really wear make-up on my skin – foundation or anything like that, and that I would never leave it on. I would definitely advise people to take that off, don’t get it into your pillow and don’t sleep with it.”
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
“Usually, I roll out of bed, brush my teeth, wash my face, put on moisturizer, put on clothes and leave, and I could probably do that in about four minutes.”
How do you stay in shape?
“I am quite relaxed about it, but I do see a trainer twice a week. And that is actually because I’d like to just remain healthy and flexible and be able to tie my shoelaces when I’m 75. It’s more about general health than anything else.”
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
“There are many actually. Denmark, obviously, is one of them as it’s my homeland and the vegetation I’m used to. England is fairly similar, and the countryside especially is so beautiful. Kenya is another. The south of France I really love. There are so many beautiful places!”
Are there any places you’d love to visit?
“Iceland – I haven’t been there yet and that’s somewhere I’d love to explore. It looks so beautiful from what I’ve seen and heard from people that have been.”
How often do you return home?
“I go home every season, at least every season because I miss my family and my good friends!”
As a model you have to adopt lots of different styles, but how would you describe your own individual style?
“I tend to wear the same kind of uniform – lots of blacks, olives, indigo, greys and shirts, jeans, pants and T-shirts; very simple uniform attire. There’s nothing better to put on jeans and a T-shirt – it’s easy. I don’t really dress up; it’s just what I like to wear.”
What’s the creative inspiration behind your tattoos?
“They come from lots of different places over a period of time and what feels natural. I have 16 tattoos. They are quite small, that’s why you can’t see all 16. They’re all personal.”
