FKA Twigs has finally broken her silence over her and Robert Pattinson’s engagement. Ooh!
In case you’d forgotton, rapper T-Pain accidentally told the world that his friends were engaged on a radio show (later trying to pretend it was an April Fool’s joke), and since then, Twigs has been wearing her ring loud and proud.
And when the bride-to-be is asked about the slip-up, the interviewer notes that she seemed ‘genuinely sad’ about the way her and Rob’s news went public without her permission.
‘It’s fine, I’m a pretty chill person, do you know what I mean?’ she then said about the whole palava.
The Two Weeks singer went on to express how she’s often felt ‘genuinely shocked and disgusted’ by the racist social media attacks aimed at her, namely provoked by her dating Rob.
‘It is pretty horrible,’ she said. ‘But ultimately, I’m in an amazing relationship. So it doesn’t matter.’ Aw. Finally, she’s opening up!
The interviewer also noted that at one point during the interview, R-Patz himself opened the door to her, proving the couple are very much shacked up together.
But FKA Twigs insisted she’s still keen to keep their romance private on the whole, what with them both being fairly media-shy.
‘If this is what being an artist is,’ she recalled thinking about the paparazzi mayhem surrounding her and her fiance, ‘I’m just not really sure this is for me. This [the press cycle] is horrific. I could be doing dance class right now.’
There was one thing FKA Twigs really wanted people to know about her, though – she’s not always serious.
‘I feel like people don’t realize that I have a sense of humor about things,’ she remarked. ‘I’m very goofy.’
It’s nice to see the softer side of Twigs, no? Now bring on that super edgy wedding…
