Put the opaques down - fishnet tights are where it's at, and they're easier to wear than you might think…
Fishnet tights are one of those ‘I-could-never-pull-them-off’ pieces. They’re pretty brash, let’s face it, but when everyone from Max Mara to Antonio Marras sent them down the A/W16 runways, we saw them in a whole new light. Why? Well, fishnet tights are obviously a lot more interesting than classic black opaques, but they’re not half as OTT as we’d thought. Apparently we’re not the only ones who picked up on it, either, and now we’ve spied 241 cool ways to wear fishnet tights (we’d love to share them all but that’d take us all day, so here’s the best three…).
- Play up the punk vibes. Go for black pleather on top or bottom like Alexa Chung and balance out with soft pastels and cute arm candy. Couture √ Costume X
- Add a little edge. If the whole tight shebang is still a little daunting, ease into the trend with socks and dress up retro kicks or heels.
- Toughen up a ladylike look. Team with LBD and chic black suedette strappies for a seriously cool desk-to-drinks transformation.
So that’s how to wear fishnet tights, but the best part? You can get your very own pair for under a tenner – that’s basically the equivalent of three new outfits for less than one cocktail these days. Thank us later…
