We, the people of LOOK, are here to tell you that there IS a Santa Claus (as if you were in any doubt) but, as it turns out, he’s way more stylish than we ever gave him credit for.
Instead of the failsafe red and white suit, complete with a built-in mince pie belly, one forward-thinking shopping centre has re-imagined Father Christmas as a hunky, incredibly well turned out dude that wouldn’t look out of place on the Fashion Week FROWS.
Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre has introduced their version of Santa for the 2015 Christmas season as a shoulder-robbing, Burberry-clad badass with the hipster beard of dreams. So yep, it was guaranteed to go viral from the get-go.
The legendary figure is embodied by full-time model Paul Mason in the series of shots, which sees Santa with a significantly slimmer waistline and expertly trimmed facial hair donning the slickest festive clobber.
He may be a fashion icon, but this Santa hasn’t forgotten the spirit of generosity that comes hand-in-hand with this time of year. For every selfie posted with Fashion Santa and the hashtag #YorkdaleFashionSanta, Yorkdale will donate a $1 to Sick Kids Foundation, up to $10,000. So if you happen to be in Canada over the next couple of weeks, we reckon it’s definitely worth a visit for a quick snap with – we can’t believe we’re saying this – sexy St. Nick.
Now, let’s just hope our stockings are filled with as much chic clobber as Santa’s personal garbs…
