Beyoncé Confirms Brushed-Up Brows Are Now A Thing

We’ve had the power brow (thanks, Cara). But this season, it’s all about the brushed-up brow. Show us how it’s done, Beyoncé.

The superstar singer has been sharing photos of her latest all-out Halloween costume, where she paid tribute to one of her favorite artists: Frida Kahlo.

Rocking a purple and yellow floral jumpsuit, huge gold drop earrings, a spotty red pussybow and one seriously impressive multi-coloured headpiece made up of roses, feathers and butterflies, Bey proved she puts just as much effort into her Haloween costumes as she does her stage outfits.

But it wasn’t her costume we were looking at. Because on-trend Bey has only gone and tried out our favourite new beauty obsession.

Seen trialled on the DKNY and Marc Jacobs SS15 catwalks, the new brow du jour is all about letting them run wild – in fact, there was barely a tweezer seen backstage.

Penned as giving you a more youthful look, spikey brushed-up brows also open up your face and give the impression of a young, wild mythical creature. Which we’d all like to be a little more like, right?

Unruly brows may be big on the beauty scene, but they still need to be kept under control. Apply a brow gel using upward strokes to create a more polished, streamlined and put-together look.

To give the illusion of thickness, fill in any emptry spaces with a pencil or powder. Bey’s gone all out with her look, drawing them in with exaggerrated strokes – tone down for a subtle day look.

Finish off with a light slick of mascara – the best thing about spikey brushed-up brows is that they make enough of an impact on their own so you can skimp on the rest of your eye make-up.
