As Gok Wan launches his 16th collection with Tu at Sainsburys, he invited us down last night to check out what spring will have to offer at the store, complete with tea, talk and plenty of cake.
Well into the swing of designing for the brand, Gok has outdone himself with this season’s collection – making a monochrome statement inspired by modernist architecture that are reflective of urban cityscapes. Of course, as you would expect with king of making the ladies feel good, the range is strongly focussed on shape and form. We asked him to describe the collection in one word. He said, of course – and with no hesitation – “Confident.”
And we can see why – high necklines and round shoulders make for some seriously flattering shapes which have a really modern feel. While pattern and print sees geometric chevron patterns, windowpane and checkerboard chic, it was the unique texture that really wowed us last night. From mesh paneling and high shine materials, Gok’s absolute must-have buy from the collection would be the white waffle top.
The collection launches on February 3rd in over 200 stores nationwide. Comprising of 30 styles, many of which you can see in these pics (which are exclusive to LOOK.) Ranging from £18 – £40, this stunning collection is totally affordable!
As for the always lovely Gok, he rates friend Fearne Cotton’s style more than any other celeb and would absolutely love to see Rita Ora strut around in the collection. We can totally see her in those funky trousers!
