Could We Soon Be Getting Engaged With Septum Rings?!

We all dream of the day we receive an engagement ring, don’t we?

Maybe you’ve imagined yourself rocking a diamond sparkler, or have been hoping for a Kate Middleton-inspired sapphire number.

Your ideal design could be square-shaped, circular, teardrop or rectangular. Perhaps it’d be boasting a glittering band, or feature more than one jewel.

But will we soon be ditching engagement rings for good?! Well, probably not. But that’s what one jewellery designer has suggested.

Rochelle Humes and Marvin Humes Could traditional engagement rings be about to disappear?

Delfina Delettrez produces quirky and elegant pieces, including necklaces, septum rings, rings, earrings and cuffs.

She’s now created a bridal-inspired line. And she reckons someone could one day propose to their partner with one of these jewels.

Delfina ponders to Vogue: ‘Maybe we can move away from having to wear an engagement ring.

‘Introduce engagement rings, engagement earrings, engagement bracelets, and to add a little punkiness to it, a little irony, I wanted to introduce the engagement nose ring.

‘It’s a fake piercing but with real diamonds.’

Interesting. But what kind of lady does Delfina reckon would appreciate receiving a septum ring over a traditional engagement band?
