Laura Whitmore went bold last night. VERY bold.
The MTV presenter turned more than a few heads at the UK Fashion and Textile Awards at London’s Tobacco Dock in her black leather D Squared 2 and bright yellow feathered skirt – a look that was anything but subtle.
Laura slung a leather jacket round her shoulders for a touch of her signature rock chick aesthetic and added black platform heels and a black clutch bag to tie her look together.
Now, Laura’s Big Bird-esque look won’t be for everyone, but we reckon she pulls it off. The puffball shape of the skirt does wonders for her long pins, and all that leather stops the look from being too girly and princess-like.
Plus, who doesn’t love a pop of yellow for summer?!
We’re also feeling Laura’s pretty boho breads that she weaved into her blonde waves, topping off with a subtle smokey brown eye.
And upon reading the mixed opinions over her get-up, Laura showed she can have a LOL at herself by sharing a snap of Big Bird this morning and writing: ‘I woke up like this.’ Yes, lady.
While certainly a talking point, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a celeb tap into some Sesame Street style.
Last month, Solange Knowles went all out with her furry yellow feathered creation, working a head-to-toe Big Bird look (with furry flats to boot) to the Max Mara opening party of The Whitney Museum in New York.
But there is a way to go slightly more subtle with your feathers. Naomi Watts looked stunning in her bold feathered Elie Saab Couture evening gown at Cannes that came in an elegant dove grey hue.
