Designer handbags may change with fashion’s seasons but, let’s face it, they’re a long-term investment guaranteed to last a lot longer than passing trends. But every so often, a new bag comes along that promises to be an instant classic. Remember when Chanel launched the Boy bag? Already it’s right up there with the arm candy icons. And now, Burberry has added a new style to its accessory arsenal, which we can safely say looks set to join the elite ranks of ‘It’ bag history pretty quickly.
We spotted Burberry’s new bucket bags on the AW15 catwalk during London Fashion Week and instantly fell for their charms. Adorned with everything from soft fringing to leopard prints, these carry-alls echoed the bohemian accents of the collection, which was a glorious mix of prints and sumptuous textures.
Although Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection doesn’t hit stores until July, the Brit brand has decided to treat us all and launch 12 of its beautiful buckets tomorrow, 12th June. The bags will be available in London’s Regent Street store, and prices start from £995. And, seeing as this is one major investment, we’ve already selected our favourites to help you choose which will be your wear-forever bag.
We’re particular fans of the bucket in contrasting shades of blue (very on trend for AW15), as well as the fringed beauty in deep red. Or, if you’re after something slightly more traditional, opt for the bag in Burberry’s house check complete with fringe overlay. Either way, you can guarantee these new season gems have room enough for all your essentials- and then some- and they look pretty good, too.
If you still need convincing, we’d point out that Naomi Campbell has already been spotted out with hers, and we reckon it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the Burberry girls follow suit. Kate, Cara, we’re looking to you. But if you head to Burberry tomorrow, you’ll have your bucket bag before them all, putting you one step ahead of the style set. Don’t panic if you can’t get to London- the bags will be available online from July.
Autumn/Winter 2015? Looks like it’s already in the bag (sorry, we couldn’t resist).
