It looks like we may be seeing a lot more of David Beckham on the silver screen.
The 40-year-old recently nabbed a small part in his pal Guy Ritchie’s film The Man From U.N.C.L.E. – and he clearly impressed behind the scenes.
‘He looks pretty good on a big screen and yes you’ll be seeing more of him in my next film,’ Guy, 46, tells The Sun.
‘David really is one of the best men you could wish to meet and fantastic to have around on a film set.’
Becks is far from his usual hunky self in the flick, where he appears as a bespectacled projectionist. And there’s a reason for that.
Guy continues: ‘When I was looking for someone for a cameo, how could I resist putting one of the most handsome and photographed men in the world into a pair of specs and hide him behind a large projector?’
Lolz. He clearly has a sense of humour.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. isn’t the only thing David is thought to be working on with Guy.
The famous footballer has reportedly also taken on a role in a movie about King Arthur.
Guy is said to have cast David in his new Middle Ages epic, ‘Knights Of The Round Table: King Arthur’. Could this see a succesful acting career kick off? We sure hope so.
Guy and David have worked together before, once on his H&M advert and again on a short film for Beckham’s whiskey brand, Haig Whiskey, but this team up is set to be a much bigger deal.
According to IMDB – who have unofficially credited him the role – David Beckham is playing the part of ‘Blackleg leader’.
The Sun have reported: ‘There’s going to be a version of the scene where Exalibur gets drawn from the stone. This is where Beckham factors in.
‘There’s a little bit of a sense that David’s character, who fancies himself as a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart, is the one who can free the sword.’
Add to this ‘some football puns’, according to the website FilmDivider.com and you have a very exciting movie in store.
How big David’s role will be is not yet known, but what we do know is that he will be acting aside some of Hollywood’s best including Jude Law, Eric Bana and Charlie Hunham. Supermodel Poppy Delevingne is also rumoured to be taking part.
If he succeeds like he has in the worlds of fashion and football, Hollywood will have a new star. Is there anything in the entire world the Beckham clan can’t do?
