Stop whatever you’re doing and put 20 August in your diary now, and underline it. Why? Well, it’s only the day when 600 items from Victoria Beckham’s amazing wardrobe go on sale at Theoutnet.com to raise money for mothers2mothers. Remember the picture VB posted on Twitter back in June, showing her sorting through her fashion archive? That was her cherry-picking pieces for the sale, which will raise money for women less fortunate.
Victoria travelled to Africa back in February to meet Dr Mitch Bessers, founder of the mothers2mothers charity. The charity trains, employs and empowers Mentor Mothers, who are mums living with HIV, in order to educate them on how to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to babies and improve the health of women and their families. The trip inspired her to raise money and awareness, and what better way for the queen of fashion to do so than with the ultimate wardrobe sale?
So what’s up for grabs in the five-day auction, we hear you ask? Well, there’s iconic outfits from Victoria’s Spice Girl days, like this hot pink and orange Rebecca Davies number she wore to the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards back in 2000. Plus, the neon Roberto Cavalli frock she rocked for her and David’s pre-world cup bash in 2006, and many more. “I laughed a lot when we were going through my wardrobe as the pieces hold so many happy memories for me, David and the children. A lot of the clothes have been specially designed for me by the most talented designers and I’ve loved wearing them. However, I now feel it’s someone else’s turn to enjoy them”, said Victoria. Erm, yes please! Fancy getting into a bidding war with the Look team? Register at Theoutnet.com now for a chance to shop the collection. Now that’s what we call a slice of fashion history.
