She may be best mates with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci but it’s former Pucci designer Peter Dundas who has managed to bag Ciara for his first campaign at the helm of Roberto Cavalli.
Moments after the campaign surfaced online, Peter posted a photo writing: ‘CONGRATS CIARA!!! To my friend and my love @ciara the new face of @roberto_cavalli FW2015 Ad Campaign’. Ciara quickly turned to her account to express her excitement too: ‘Aaahh!! I’m So Excited!! Love You @peter_dundas’.
The stunning new campaign was shot in Los Angeles by photographer Francesco Carrozzini and sees the R&B songstress stun in intricate tailoring, statement fringed frocks and a striking jumpsuit from the brand’s upcoming AW15 collection, all against a sand-piled back drop.
Ciara has long been a fan of the brand, regularly sporting the Italian house on the red carpet and FROW but the ads mark her first high fash fashion campaign. The images came just days after Twitter went into a frenzy after Rihanna was unveiled as the new face of Dior.
This isn’t the first time Cavalli has turned to hot singer to front one of its campaigns though. Last season they chose Nicki Minaj and before that, Rita Ora held the top spot.
If this new campaign is any glimpse of what we can expect for the new Cavalli under Peter Dundas, we’re seriously excited, especially if it means more stars in the brand’s campaigns.
