Cheryl Fernandez-Versini made sure that all eyes were on her – and her remaining act, Reggie ‘N’ Bollie – as she stepped out onto the X Factor stage in a glorious sunshine yellow couture gown during the semi-final results show.
Showing the audience that she’s still got it when it comes to those pro’ style credentials, the Geordie beauty opted for a sweeping floor-length gown by Stephane Rolland, from the 2011 fall couture collection.
Perfectly on-trend, this dazzler combines long sleeves and a high polo neck with a sweeping fishtail train, complete with a black dipped hemline.
Whether down to her stand-out wardrobe or not, Cheryl had a winning night as her act was voted through to the finals, much to the delight of Twitter.
One simply cheered ‘YEEEESSSSSSSSS REGGIE AND BOLLIE!!! #XFactor’ whilst another tweeted, ‘I’m actually buzzing about the fact Reggie & Bollie got through to the final #XFactor’.
Cheryl’s dress, on the other hand, seemed to divide opinion on the social media site.
One viewer wrote: ‘Cheryl looks like she’s put a yellow dress on and jumped around in a puddle’. Ouch.
Many even jumped on the comparison train and likened her to a ‘banana’.
Although Cheryl’s fans were quick to show their love for the outfit choice, with a host of complimentary tweets to counteract the negative. One gushed, ‘Ooh Cheryl you outdid yourself in that yellow dress’ and another said, ‘I want Cheryl’s updo/fit yellow dress’.
Another tweet read: ‘I just want to talk about Cheryl’s yellow dress because where do I get one?’
We don’t know about you, but we’ve got a sudden urge to add a splash of yellow to our wardrobes (thanks, Cheryl), so we’ve found a selection of sunshine frocks for you on the high street.
