Yup, it’s true, LOOK have been on the case and we’ve discovered French fashion house Chanel has been keeping a secret weapon in the form of high-end cashmere brand Barrie.
Based in Scotland but owned by Chanel, Barrie supplies knitwear to the most prestigious fashion houses using its traditional Scottish manufacturing. So that explains Karl’s kilt-filled 2013 Metiers d’Art taking place in Edinburgh. We were wondering…
Proving Britain’s fashion credentials once more, you only have to look at every Chanel collection ever to see Barrie’s knitwear rocking down the runway. Those classic Chanel twin sets? Yup, made by Barrie in Scotland, not Paris. Is anyone else’s mind blown?
Stepping out from under Chanel’s shadow, Barrie have revealed their latest campaign featuring chic actress Lily Collins. The 25 year old actress, who is the daughter of Phil Collins, is the face of Barrie’s SS15 ready-to-wear collection, and we reckon she looks pretty awesome.
Shot by Karl Lagerfeld, Lily looks amazing in Barrie’s Celtic-printed knitwear, proving socks and sandals and cashmere cardis are anything but old lady.
Our favourite piece? The pastel marble-print full-length cardigan Lily pairs with a grey marl dress and pink fishnet socks. We’re talking major Spring outfit inspo ladies.
So what does the actress herself have to say about the campaign? Posting an Instagram pic of herself with Karl, Lily wrote, ‘I admire, adore, and respect you.’ So we’re guessing she’s pretty pleased with the pics. Go on girl!
