Alice Temperley is best known for her eponymous fashion brand. Since 2000, Temperley London has been the designer of choice for almost every A-lister worth their style salt. In fact, Alice’s contribution to the fashion industry has been so influential, it was even recognised by the Queen when she was awarded an MBE back in 2011.
Now, Temperley London produces three lines; Temperley London, ALICE by Temperley and Temperley Bridal, and is stocked in some of the world’s biggest department stores including Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Harrods. Pretty good-going, right? In celebration of Miss Temperley’s big 4-0 today, we’ve put together the top 5 times celebrities stepped out in her designs. Enjoy.
Shooting straight to the top of our ranks was the time MIC star Millie Mackintosh wed Professor Green back in 2013. Clad in the very best of Temperley Bridal, Mil’s ‘Bluebell’ gown featured a waterfall hemline, vintage lace detailing and cap sleeves, highlighting her flawlessly svelte figure. We reckon it’s only a matter of time before Temperley Bridal bags it’s next celebrity wedding.
Of course, we couldn’t go without mentioning the Princess of Cambridge’s trusty black lace floor-length number. Making it’s debut at the War Horse premiere in January 2013, the Temperley gown then made a second appearance at the screening of David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive in December. If a Princess wearing the same creation twice doesn’t say something of it’s designer, we don’t know what does..
Sat FROW at the Temperley SS15 show during London Fashion Week, Nicole Scherzinger’s insect-print peplum frock by Temperley herself reigned supreme. Yep, the bright colours, bold print and exaggerated hems set Scherzinger apart from her fellow FROW-ers, and left us with some serious shopping urges.
Rita Ora’s choice of Temperley design for her performance at this year’s Capital FM Summertime Ball made for one hell of a get-up. The sheer fabric and exotic print gave a nod to summertime chic, while revealing Rita’s hot bod in the process.
One of the label’s older celeb outings, Emma Roberts’ strapless bejewelled dress makes up one fraction of Temperley’s AW11 collection. That said, Emma’s Gatsby-inspired number was no less eye-catching than the designer’s more recent creations. Plus, diamonds are forever, right?
