Carey Mulligan had us swooning over her sparkling Christian Dior Couture gown at last night’s Far From The Madding Crowd premiere.
Carey looked sensational as she worked the red carpet at the UK premiere for her latest movie in the strapless embellished number. But it’s not just the sparkle we’re crushing on, this frock has plenty of other style skills to offer; the elegant midi length and delicate lace trim are doing wonders for the British actress.
The statement gown is part of Dior’s spring couture collection, shown in Paris back in January with a celeb-packed FROW including the likes of Natalie Portman and Elizabeth Olsen.
The sumptuous offering combined luxury techniques with modern fabrics and shapes. Printed catsuits, full-skirted ballerina dresses and heavy embellishments were mixed in with wool mini dresses and latex legging boots (it looks far chicer than it sounds, trust us!) to create a standout collection.
On the runway, Creative Director, Raf Simmons, paired the sparkling midi length dress with the striking latex red booties but Carey showed off her style know-how, opting for simple grey Louboutin heels for a more ladylike vibe.
Keeping her accessories minimal and her hair in a romantic up-do, Carey’s berry lippy was another tick on the style chart for us.
The starlet’s latest role sees her play an independant leading lady, performing alongside Matthias Schoenaerts in the adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s literary classic.
We’ll be heading to the cinema on Friday 1st May when the film hits UK cinemas – rocking a sequin frock in honour of Miss Milligan, obvs!
