Yep, you heard us right.
Once upon a time (well, in 2010) Kate Middleton announced her engagement to Prince William wearing a stunning navy wrap dress. Said dress was chosen by the Duchess to compliment the 12-carat Ceylon sapphire in her engagement ring, and was from London based brand, Issa. As the pictures of William and Kate flooded the Internet, the £399 dress sold out within hours. In that moment, ‘The Kate Effect’ was born, and in the past six years the royal’s sartorial choices have caused many a sell-out item.
If you, like many others, had your heart set on that dress, then this news might just make your day. The dress’ designer, Daniella Helayel has has reprised her iconic design as part of a 14-piece capsule collection for high street stalwart, Monsoon. The near-identical design, dubbed the ‘Giselle’ dress is priced at £99 and is available now on the brand’s site.
Featuring all the flattering details of the original design (long sleeves, nipped in waist and plunging neckline), this dress offers excellent cost-per-wear value. And unlike many other copycat designs that came before it, this one is the real deal.
Speaking about the collection, Helayel said: “My design philosophy has always been to make all women feel comfortable and confident whilst looking effortlessly elegant, chic and seductive. I like to empower women so they can get on with their lives knowing they look fantastic!”
If you want to get your hands on this royal-approved design, we suggest you move fast. We’re predicting another sell-out.
