Up there with the most-coveted fashion gongs has to be the British Fashion Awards, and after much anticipation, it has finally been announced which designers have made the cut.
As expected, there’s many a familiar face on the roster including Erdem, Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Paul Smith. But there’s one nominee in particular that comes as big news: Mrs Victoria Beckham. Yep, while VB has previously won Brand of the Year twice (in 2011 and 2014), this year the designer is up for the top prize of all – Womenswear Designer of the Year.
Meanwhile, J. W Anderson is yet another newcomer to the category, as well as being up for Menswear Designer of the Year.
Designing aside, the nominations for Britain’s most stylish are equally surprising.
Alongside Sienna Miller and Daniel Craig comes FKA Twigs, Naomie Harris, Gwendoline Christie and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The most exciting part of the style category, though, is the fact that the decision lies in the hands of the public. To have your say in who will go home with the prestigious style accolade in hand, head to britishfashionawards.com/britishstyle to vote.
Other new faces in the design sector include Charlotte Simone in the Emerging Accessory Designer category and up-and-coming Molly Goddard for Emerging Womenswear Designer.
On the other hand, surprising omissions include Mulberry and Lily Donaldson in the Model of the Year category.
Baring in mind Lily has had two very impressive catwalk seasons this year, we can’t help but feel that her absence is pretty unjustified. As for Mulberry, though, the brand has been running a pretty low profile since appointing new creative designer Johnny Coca, although we’re sure this will be rectified come 2016.
In case we’ve missed anyone important, here’s the full list:

Georgia May Jagger
