Earlier this week, it was announced that Blake Lively had chosen Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and America Ferrer, three of her former co-stars from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, to be her daughter James’ godparents. But now, something very awkward has happened.
Blake had remained firm friends with all three of her fellow film stars, most recently joining Amber and Alexis to support America Ferrera, who was starring in a production on Broadway.
Amber who broke the news on VH1’s Morning Buzz Live, hosted by Nick Lachey (yep, he of Newlyweds fame) who posed the question: ‘You’re still very close with your co-stars and the three of you are godmothers to Blake Lively’s baby – is that a fact?’ The audience erupted into applause as Amber confirmed: ‘Yes, that is a fact.’
But now, Blake herself has spoken out – and has totally denied all knowledge of it. Eek.
Speaking to E! News about the rumour, new mum Blake asserted: ‘I never named them my godmothers, they’re my dear friends. I would say my baby has a lot of fairy godmothers.’
She then explained who it would be, if she had even chosen a godparent yet. ‘My sister would be the one to take care of my baby [if something were to happen].’
Well, we have a feeling Amber’s going to be feeling pretty sheepish for spreading that rumour round right now…
