Beyoncé was definitely one of the most talked about celebrities at this year’s MET Gala. And it wasn’t all about what she was wearing.
Taking to the red carpet in a futuristic nude latex Givenchy dress, she took the theme – Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology – and ran with it.
Queen B told Vogue that her risqué body-fitting frock was a lot easier to get into than that famous barely-there slinky number from last year, but it certainly hugged every curve.
It’s no secret that Beyoncé has been plagued by rumours this week. Following the release of her new album, Lemonade, the Formation singer’s references to infidelity and an unknown ‘Becky’ caused fans to worry about the state of her marriage to rapper Jay Z.
So, naturally, all eyes were on the songstress as she took to those famous Metropolitan Museum steps for her first red carpet appearance since she broke the internet with her HBO special.
Bey made a powerful statement as she posed for the cameras, swishing her poker-straight hair about. But there was one thing missing from the picture – yup, Jay Z himself.
She may have taken to the carpet sans husband and, reportedly, her wedding ring. But in the wake of speculation surrounding her marriage, reports have surfaced that Jay was actually involved in the creation of Lemonade.
A source told E!, ‘He knew the lyrics; he knew the implications. He had to approve the songs before release… Jay is all about self-expression, so he gets it.’
We can’t help but wonder why he wasn’t by her side last night…
