We’ve heard that the modelling industry can be a catty place, but this video breaks our hearts a little.
An Instagram vid taken by Caterina Minthe, managing editor of Style.com/Arabia, has been doing the rounds, which appears to show Bella Hadid being bullied backstage at Givenchy.
The clip shows an army of models walking out onto the runway for the show’s finale, with Bella Hadid walking near the front of the line.
We then see fellow model Ondria Hardin right behind her, followed by Mariacarla Boscono. What’s weird is that Boscono appears to push Hardin, roll her eyes and say “No, don’t do it”.
Do what, we hear you ask? Well, the Internet is rife with rumours that Hardin was trying to walk on the back of Bella’s heels to trip her up, but Boscono stopped her. Watch it here.
Gosh. It’s not clear what exactly was going on, but we just hope that people have got it all wrong.
Bella has previously spoken out about comparing herself to others in the modelling industry, namely when she wrote a long Instagram post about it last year.
‘No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows’, she wrote. ‘No, I don’t think I’m the best at any given show… No, I’m not the first or the last model of my type in this industry.’
‘You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I’m a hard worker that’s confident in myself, one that came at a time where the fashion industry was ready for a change.’
‘I’m just doing my job’, she added. ‘I represent a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before, and I’m very lucky to be supported by the designers, stylists, and editors that I am: ones that know this is fashion, it’s art; it can never stay the same.’
We will await comment from the parties involved…
