London Fashion Week catwalk tickets are pretty much gold dust, which is why the V&A’s latest announcement is such big news.
As part of their Fashion in Motion series, designer, London Fashion Week regular and King of all things glitter Ashish Gupta will hold four free catwalk shows at the museum with tickets available to all members of the public. Yes, you heard right – free.
Having originated from Delhi, India, the collaboration with Ashish comes as part of the museum’s India Festival, in celebration of the museum’s Nehru Gallery’s 25th anniversary.
“I’m greatly honoured to have been asked to do a retrospective show of my work as part of the Fashion in Motion series at the V&A,” said Ashish.
“I will be combining work from collections from the last 10 years. Going through my archives has been a fun and nostalgic experience and I am looking forward to creating an exciting presentation of the best of a decade of my work.”
And exciting we’re sure it will be. With a cult fan base including Taylor Swift, Lily Allen, Rita Ora and M.I.A., the designer is hailed for putting on nonconformist, in-your-face catwalk shows.
For his most recent showing at London Fashion Week, Ashish sent his catwalk clique down the runway on ‘90s inspired skateboards, clad in a series of metallic slip dresses, embellished capes and decorated flares. The result? One seriously chaotic combination of colourful skater grunge and sports luxe.
Our point is, if his previous shows are anything to go by, Ashish’s Fashion in Motion shows are ones you certainly don’t want to miss.
The catwalks will take place on Friday 23 October at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 8pm, but while admission is free, booking is essential. To avoid disappointment, call 02079422820 to get your tickets now. These ones will go like hot cakes..
