See Brad And Angelina In The By The Sea Trailer

Eek! It looks like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s marriage has hit a major rough patch.

Okay. Not really. But the trailer for the pair’s movie By The Sea has been released – and their characters definitely do NOT get on.

The clip actually reveals very little about the film, although we already know Angelina wrote it, it’s set in the 1970s and focuses on a couple who travel around France together.

French ex-dancer Vanessa and her American husband Roland are growing apart, and things come to a head when they arrive in a quaint seaside town.

There’s barely any dialogue for us to decipher much from. However, Brad, 51, can be heard saying to his partner: ‘Are we ever going to talk about it? Do you hate me? Do you want to hurt me?’

He also entices her: ‘Hurt me.’ So overall, there’s a pretty dark tone.

While the minute-and-a-half long teaser doesn’t see the pair interact with each other an awful lot, the music, slow pace and choice of shots incite a real sense of turmoil.

At the start of the clip, we see lots of individual scenes of Brad and Ange looking miserable.

Brad’s alter-ego often seems to find himself alone with his notebook. A particularly, er, attractive scene shows him lamenting his situation while naked in a bathtub.

> Angelina Jolie has some emotional scenes

Meanwhile, we witness Angelina sobbing on a bed, moodily smoking a cigarette and popping pills with a retro blonde bouffant.

After this, things get even more dramatic.

The pair scuffle and Angelina viciously slaps Brad. We then hear the 40-year-old actress gasp as her husband lashes out in anger.

> This looks pretty dark…

The trailer ends with Brad walking out of their bedroom while Angelina lays still on the floor. Hmmm. What could that mean?
