Angelina Jolie Beats Emma Watson To Best Feminist Icon

Angelina Jolie has made her first public appearance since announcing that she’d had both of her ovaries removed last week in an essay for The New York Times

The 29-year-old actress enjoyed a super cute night out with her daughters Shiloh and Zahara at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday and was seen excitedly hugging them before she took to the stage to accept the Favorite Villain Award for her recent role as Maleficent.

Angelina looked gorgeous in a plunging black dress, with her long hair worn loose and straight and super flicky lashes comprising her beauty look.

It’s not often we see Jolie at big awards ‘dos, and to see her at one with her kids is even cuter. How adorable?!

The elegant A-lister also has another reason to celebrate this week, having just been crowned the nation’s top feminist icon and beating women’s rights activist Germaine Greer and Emma Watson.

Emma came in at a close second for her world-famous HeForShe campaign for gender equality, while author and general funnywoman Caitlin Moran won third place.

Next up was Jennifer Lawrence, who impressed with her gutsy reaction following intimate pictures of herself being leaked, followed by Greer in fifth place.

Taylor Swift also made an appearance in sixth place for her Blank Space video, which passionately attacks misogyny. Go Swifty!

A spokesperson for feminist fashion house Rose and Willard, who commissioned the research, said: ‘We are driven by the empowerment of women and celebration of their femininity, which Angelina Jolie embodies perfectly.’

‘The poll shows that this is the brand of feminism currently favoured by the public. Emma Watson is another exciting example of this and shared our vision when recently complaining that society “devalues the she”, which is why her HeForShe campaign fights for society to respect and embrace feminine qualities.’
