One of our all-time fave style icons, we’re always wondering why Alexa Chung isn’t in more fashion campaigns. Until now. Taking the starring role in Longchamp’s SS15 campaign, Alexa is back with a bang for her third consecutive season.
Shot by photographer Max Vadukul on the roof terrace at the MAMO art centre in Marseille, the pics are super high fashion and tres magnifique. With pop-colour artworks by artist Daniel Buren contrasting the minimal concrete surroundings, the images reflect the graphic feel of Longchamp’s latest collection.
As Alexa flits and skips around the rooftop in a red drop waist dress and Longchamp’s Le Pilage Heritage bag, we can’t help but think she’s the picture of chic French style. And it’s so Spring. Bright and airy with Longchamp’s signature optimism filtering through the photos, the campaign is a real breath of fresh air. The Mondrian-esque colour palette with bags in bold hues of electric blue, green and coral are the finishing touch and look perfect hanging off Alexa’s arm.
So why Alexa? “She’s a woman with a natural elegance and style, for whom fashion is a reality,” states Marie-Sabine Leclercq, Longchamp’s Head of International Communications. “She perfectly embodies the Longchamp woman with her eyes, which capture your attention and bring a lot of strength to the images.” We couldn’t agree more.
