Alexa Chung is slowly bringing back super sweet schoolgirl plaits, one braid at a time.
We haven’t seen bowed Heidi pigtails like this since we packed up our Year 11 school uniform. But after spying them on the Topshop Unique FROW on the head of none other than Ms Chung herself, we’ve decided they’re officially cool again.
The British model/presenter worked a typically on-point ensemble for the SS15 runway show, flashing her slender pins in a leopard-print mini, a knitted yellow roll-neck top and an ah-mazing Chanel milk carton clutch.
But while her enviable tan was one thing, it was her super cute ‘do that really had us pining after her preppy FROW look.
While we definitely didn’t see school-girl pigtails becoming a trend this season, you can bet your Mulberry on the fact that now Alexa’s given them her stylish seal of approval, the rest of the fash pack will soon be following suit.
Get Alexa’s look by parting your tresses into two sections and working each side into a plait that rests over your ear. Once you’re done twisting and looping and you’ve secured your braid in place with a hair band, gently pull out fine sections from the plait to recreate Alexa’s seriously cool, undone look.
Match your ribbons to your arm candy for extra style panache.
And her braid-shaped love-in didn’t stop there, either. Because what did we spy later that day on the Erdem FROW? Yep, more pretty plaits from Ms C, this time in the form of a thick milkmaid braid.
Looks like plaits are where it’s at, ladies…
