Whether you’re looking to get fit, use your phone less, monitor your electricity usage or, you know, just simply want to tell the time; there’s a wristband for that. Now, there’s even one that’s here to obliterate your hangovers.
Tech guru BACtrack Skyn has developed a brand new device that can tell you how drunk you are (great for those of us who are in perpetual denial) and politely suggests when it thinks you should stop drinking.
Don’t worry, there’s no needles involved – the wristband contains a clever sensor that detects ethanol molecules, which your skin subsequently releases when you consume alcohol.
We don’t need to tell you that, when you reach a certain drinking point, your judgment skews and, as the saying goes, once you start, it’s hard to stop.
Cue the BACtrack Skyn wristband. Pop it on before you head out and throughout your sesh, you can get up-to-the-minute readings of your blood alcohol concentration.
You can even sync it up to your phone so it sends you push notifications when it reckons it’s time for you to call it quits (or, at least, give it a rest for a bit) on the alcohol front.
Not only could it save you from the embarrassing antics which often come hand-in-hand with nights out (drunk dialing your ex, anyone?!) On a more serious note, it could also protect you from potentially vulnerable situations.
The wristband launches later this year, and you can put your name on the waitlist here.
Sure, it might detract from your killer outfit but we reckon it’s a small price to pay for better drinking habits…
