Christmas is rapidly approaching – erm yep, we’re not sure how that happened – and the 1st December is creeping up on us even quicker. The beginning of December marks the official countdown to Christmas and the start of Advent. And we all know what that means! Yep, it’s time to pick your Advent calendars! Yay!
While the Advent calendars of our childhood were filled with chocolate (or just pictures if you were really unlucky), these days the shops offer us much more extravagant ways to celebrate Advent. Beauty Advent calendars are one thing but how about an alcoholic countdown to Christmas? Or how about building a charm bracelet day by day in the run up to December 25th?
The Gin Advent Calendar
The creative people over at the Gin Foundry have reinvented Advent as #ginvent. The calendar takes you on a 24-day journey through 23 botanical distillates giving you the chance to try and discover exciting new gins. If you can’t sip on G&T’s every day in December, when can you?
The Tea Advent Calendar
Harrods have taken the quintessentially British pastime of tea drinking and transformed it into an unusual Advent calendar offering. Count down the days to Christmas by trying a new black or green tea every day. Afternoon tea anyone?
The Whisky Advent Calendar
Fortnum & Mason are also jumping on the alcohol advent calendar bandwagon. Get in the festive spirit by trying a different whisky – from big names to new brands and unusual finds – each of the 23 days running up to Christmas. A must-have for any whisky fans.
The Beer Advent Calendar
Not technically an Advent calendar but a pretty fun (and boozy) way to get in the mood for Christmas. Mark the 12 days of Christmas by trying a new, unique craft beer each day.
Cheers to that!
The Jewellery Advent Calendar
Get ready for Christmas by collecting a sparkling new charm each day in this unique Advent calendar. By the time December 25th rolls around you’ll have all the pieces you need to decorate two bracelets. We wish we’d thought of this one!
The Biscuit Advent Calendar
Our favourite biscuit company, Biscuiteers have teamed up with interior design brand Susie Watson to create a handcrafted cloth calendar filled with Biscuiteers delicious, Christmas themed biscuits.
