With the likes of Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova and Helena Christiansen storming the runways and landing some seriously major high fashion campaigns, the 1990’s saw the rise of some of fashion’s biggest supermodels. Now, super famed photog Peter Lindbergh has joined forces with some of the era’s most influential faces for one very special photoshoot.
That’s right, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, Karen Alexander, Nadja Auermann and Tatjana Patitz have all reunited to star alongside one another in a photoshoot and short film for the “Director’s Cut” series of online video channel ‘Nowness.’
Taking to Instagram, photographer Peter shared the news yesterday with an exclusive shot of the models on set in the style of his signature black and white portraits.
Shortly after, Cindy took to her own account to post a snap of the gown-clad models together on a beach with the caption: “The reunion! #BTS with @therealpeterlindbergh. Director’s cut video up on @nowness today.. More to come”.
Well, the wait is up! Dubbed “The Reunion”, the short film takes the audience behind the scenes of “The Reunion” and makes for one seriously nostalgic flashback.
Talking to Fashionista, Cindy revealed what made the shoot so special.
“The thing that makes working with Peter memorable is his energy,” she says, “He loves women and that really comes across; he really sees the beauty in a mature woman. Like, though experience, through having children, through heartbreaks, through love, through all of that. Peter thinks all that adds to our beauty, and that’s really what we’re here doing today.”
And how right Peter is, too.
Previously credited for his iconic Vogue UK cover featuring Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford and Tatjana Patitz back in January 1990, Lindbergh was always going to deliver big things – and he certainly hasn’t disappointed. In fact, we could watch the video all day..
